Méliès, known for his "trick films" and groundbreaking works like "A Trip to the Moon" (1902) and "The Impossible Voyage" (1904), leaves behind a profound legacy as the "creator of the cinematic spectacle." He is survived by his wife, Jehanne d'Alcy, his children Georgette and André, and granddaughter Madeleine. He was laid to rest at Père Lachaise Cemetery.
