John Robert Wooden, the revered former UCLA basketball coach, passed away from natural causes at the age of 99 on June 4, 2010, at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. He was born on October 14, 1910, in Hall, Indiana. Wooden is survived by his son, James Hugh Wooden; his daughter, Nancy Anne Muehlhausen; three grandsons; four granddaughters; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nellie "Nell" Riley, who died in 1985.
