Obituary Announcement
Jean-Louis Lebris de Kerouac
1922 — 1969
Jack Kerouac died on October 21, 1969, at 5:15 AM in St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, at the age of 47. He suddenly felt nauseated and went to the bathroom, where he began to vomit blood, leading to an esophageal hemorrhage. He never regained consciousness after surgery. The cause of death was an internal hemorrhage caused by cirrhosis, attributed to long-term alcohol abuse. An untreated hernia might have been a contributing factor.
