Daniel Bernoulli (8 February 1700 – 27 March 1782) was a prominent Swiss mathematician and physicist, part of the distinguished Bernoulli family from Basel. He is highly regarded for his significant contributions to mechanics, particularly fluid mechanics, and for his pioneering work in probability and statistics. The well-known Bernoulli's principle, which explains the mechanics behind technologies like the carburetor and the aeroplane wing, is named in his honor.
