Anne Brontë, the celebrated English novelist and poet, passed away on May 28, 1849, at the age of 29, in Scarborough. As the youngest member of the distinguished Brontë literary family, Anne gained recognition for her impactful novels Agnes Grey and, most notably, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, which is lauded as a significant early feminist work. Her death followed a period of declining health, intensified by the recent losses of her brother Branwell and sister Emily. She was laid to rest in St Mary's churchyard in Scarborough.
